Steve, good post. Here are a few other WP plugins I would add to your list:

- 404 Notifier (understand what may be going wrong)
- IntenseDebate (for building a user community)
- Search Meter (track what your users are looking for)
- Social Profiles (enable your users to add a number of social profiles in WP)
- What Would Seth Godin Do (custom greetings for new users to introduce them to your blog and its features)
- Wordpress Automatic Upgrade (make upgrading easy and fast)
- Headspace2
- Page-Links-To
